Akintunde Ahmad: About Me
Akintunde “Tunde” Ahmad was born and raised in East Oakland, CA. In 2014, he graduated from Oakland Technical High School. He is currently 19 years old and is a sophomore at Yale University majoring in Sociology. He serves as the Solidarity Chair for the Yale Black Men’s Union, a peer liaison for the Afro-American Cultural Center at Yale, and he plays club basketball, as his time on the Yale varsity baseball team was cut short by injury. He is also on the Board of the Black Solidarity Conference and Black Church at Yale. Tunde plans on returning to Oakland to get involved in city government and play a major role in transforming the American public education and criminal justice system.
