Why do I love the sport of baseball? It's more than just the joy it brings me when I play it. It is the lessons it has taught me. The patience I learned from the slow-paced game. The work ethic I gained from the repetition of drills for muscle memory. The fearlessness I developed from being hit by the hardball. Most importantly, the game has taught me how to accept failure and move forward. For those who don’t know, in this game, you often fail more than you succeed. If you bat over .300 in the Big Leagues, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll be a Hall of Famer. That means that if you fail 7 out of 10 times at the plate on average, you will still go down as one of the greatest players to set foot on the diamond…So don’t be afraid to fail.
